Want to Join The Fight to End Human Trafficking?

Are you interested in joining the fight to end human trafficking in our communities? State Representative Barbara Wheeler (R-Crystal Lake) is encouraging local residents to join the effort to end sexual exploitation in our suburbs by attending Refuge for Women’s Spring Fundraiser, titled: “Welcome Home …Let The Healing Begin.” The event will be on May 14 at the Crystal Lake Country Club.

“To end human trafficking, it takes a community united against its spread,” said Wheeler. “The May 14th event will be a great opportunity to support local efforts to tackle human trafficking and feature inspirational stories about overcoming its impact. I hope you will join me in raising awareness and further the effort to end human trafficking in our area and Illinois.”

Ked Frank, National Director of Refuge for Women, will share moving stories of transformation from recent graduates and Karen Schultz, City Director, will discuss how Refuge for Women is tackling the human sex trafficking industry on a local level. Sharon Irving, America’s Got Talent semi-finalist, will offer a vocal and spoken word performance. Also enjoy a silent auction and dinner.
